adidas Table Tennis Rubbers

During Sunday photo shoot for Jit Kiat and Jing Yuan, both tried the different rubbers from adidas series. Initially, Jing Yuan chose the SynTec FAST as his preferred choice, but after more testing both preferred the TenZone Ultra.

Think the SynTec FAST must be quite unique as Andy also chose this rubber as his 2nd choice too.

According to Jit Kiat, a few players in Singapore Sports School are using the adidas TenZone SF for backhand.

adidas FIBERTEC CLASSIC

Liang Seng Sponsored Player - Siak Yen Kar's blade

I had the chance to check out Yen Kar's adidas FIBERTEC CLASSIC recently when I was changing his rubbers. Before this, I had the impression that this blade is soft (and slow) as the thickness is 5.4mm and the carbon use is Aramid Carbon (which is softer than ALC).
But to my surprise it's even harder and faster than Timo Boll ALC (the blade which Yen Kar was using before the adidas)!!!

So I did some research on the top ply of this blade. AKAZIE is the wood use on the top ply, which I had no idea what it was. And I found out the word "Akazie" is in German. It's actually Pseudoacaia (I know nothing about this wood, info given by a forum friend). Was told that the Janka hardness for his wood is 1700 (really hard!). Limba is around 490, Koto is around 950, even Walnut (African) is only around 1000. No wonder the FIBERTEC CLASSIC is even harder than Timo Boll ALC (which is thicker).

If you are looking for something similar to Butterfly Timo Boll ALC but harder and faster, the adidas FIBERTEC CLASSIC might just suits you.

adidas Table Tennis Rubbers

Few weeks back, Liang Seng Sponsored players were asked to try out the differents rubbers offered by adidas. All the rubbers' name were covered by adidas edge tapes, so that the players were not able to tell which rubber they are using. After the whole session, the most commonly preferred rubbers are SynTec Fast, TENZONE, TENZONE ULTRA, TENZONE SF and P7.

TENZONE SF stands out for backhand rubber.
P7 with the most spin.

Review on adidas rubbers... coming soon...

adidas Performance Series - P3, P5 & P7
P5 sponge looks more dense compare to P3 & P7. Not sure why the chart from the Chinese forum shows the same hardness. From adidas official website P5 is (Hard), P3 is (Medium) and P7 is (Hard-).
